Who We Support
The Vail Rotary Club has supported numerous local and international charities in our 51 years. Some of our biggest projects have included:
Support of the Vail Hospital when it was first founded. The Club raised $100,000 through selling flag sponsorships on the International Bridge.
The Vail Rotary Club put the first emergency phone on the top of Vail Pass.
We also partnered with the Forest Service to build Julia's Deck on Vail Pass. Julia's Deck includes a wheelchair accessible path and deck that overlooks Mount of the Holy Cross.
When COVID-19 hit our Valley hard in the Spring of 2020 and many of our local workers were out of work, the Club donated a total of $50,000
$20,000 to the Community Market (local food pantry)
$20,000 to the Vail Valley Salvation Army with the designation that the money be used locally
$10,000 to Speak Up Reach Out to increase suicide prevention.
The Club also provided $1000 in gift cards to local restaurants and businesses to local childcare workers who were taking care of the children of first responders.
The POWER OF ROTARY comes through matching grants. Many of our local grants are matched dollar-for-dollar by our District. International grants can be matched many times over.
